Coil Cleaning in Venice, FL

Coil cleaning in Venice homes

A loaded evaporator coil does not announce itself. It starves airflow first. Runtimes stretch, indoor humidity climbs, and the thermostat still reads cold. Left alone, the coil ices, water overflows the pan, and the ceiling below the air handler stains. That drywall repair costs more than the cleaning did. Suction pressure drops too, and compressors do not forgive that for long.

Venice coils foul in a specific way. Return plenums built from aged fiberglass ductboard shed fiber, and that fiber lands on the coil face. Leaking return plenums pull hot attic air through blown-in insulation, so the mat holds dust and glass fiber, plus sand. Crushed flex branches in tight attic runs reduce velocity, which lets more of it settle instead of passing through.

Cleaning means pulling the coil access, not spraying through a register. We check both faces. The upstream side looks clean on many units while the leaving side holds the mat. Cased coils sometimes need the plenum opened. We also check the pan, the trap, and the drain line, because a clean coil feeding a clogged trap still floods.

If the inner liner feeding that coil is deteriorating, cleaning alone buys you months. Say so up front. Duct repair comes first in that case.
